• Just got so I haven't made yet, but I am a little disappointed with the photography. Most of the ghans only have a pic of a very small section of blankie. I would prefer a pic of the whole blanket or at least a large portion so I can get the idea if I like it or not. My imagination is lacking, I need a pic. That's why I buy pattern books. That said, the ghans are cute. Many are kinda standard, there is a pattern for a granny stripe blanket. I will make some of these patterns and the borders are cute. I will update if I find mistakes, but I doubt I shall. The patterns are quite simplistic looking, lots of repeats. Easy. Book does include charts and a small section on joining as well as the standard tutorials for newbies. American terms. Cute and happy colors. Overall it's ok.
• I was so excited when I received this book. I went thru it & marked about a dozen I wanted to try. It also has great information on each pattern how to make various sizes which was helpful since I wanted a bedspread size. The 1st (and only) pattern I started was a disaster from the start. After the foundation row there were multiple rows that called for a hdc2tog decrease. This made the piece curl like crazy and shrink (see photos). My "bedspread" was looking to be about 16 inches wide! And the written instructions are horrible. They provide only basic guidance, and you are also expected to depend on the chart. I am a novice at charts so it made the pattern challenging. All my previous patterns used text to describe each row. So I am unable to use this book at all. I want to crochet to relax and this book requires too much work. Waste of money.
• I would give this book 10 stars. I literally got this book delivered yesterday afternoon and I already have a very good start on a new afghan. I have only been crocheting for about 8 or 9 months. I am completely self-taught from books, and do I have many books. I LOVE bright colors, modern designs and easy to understand directions. This book is everything I could ask for. I have a few good books for directions and learning the basics in stitching, but most of the designs are very old fashioned. I can only say, whether you are just a beginner, old pro, or somewhere in between....If you want to make baby blankets, throws, or bed spread....GET THIS BOOK!!! Worth every penny and then some!
• Loved the simple to read patterns and diagrams. I have already started one of the patterns and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in crochet. Not only do you get the afghan pattern you also have a separate section to allow you to pick separate edging for your project. I would like to see more books as clearly set out as this one. Can't recommend it highly enough.
• This book has beautiful illustrations and a good selection of patterns. It clearly explains all the basics and has just enough challenge patterns to make a large variety of projects. I've been crocheting for 20 years without patterns and I have learned so many new things from this book.
• I crochet at an intermediate level. This book is so wonderful. I hesitated a moment to purchase as I read the few negative reviews. But, I thought NO! This is going to be a good book. I am so glad I went with my gut feeling. Even for those beginners, please keep crocheting and before too long, you will truly appreciate this book. I am just going to dive in and have so much fun! Thank you for this beautiful fun jewel of a crochet book!

• This is a stunning book. The author gives many ideas for afghans. You may need to have enough experience to extrapolate a portion into a full size item. Highly creative designs.
