Raging Heart is so revealing that the book itself became part of the actual O.J. Simpson murder trial.

It is the only book to trace the path of O.J. and Nicole's fatal love story through the eyes of the people who really knew them. Acclaimed journalist Sheila Weller gained the unprecedented cooperation of Nicole Brown Simpson's family, and had exclusive access to O.J. and Nicole s friends who reveal private information here for the first time.

Though the story that unfolds in Raging Heart was never fully explored in court, the revelations from its incisive reporting sent shock waves through the trial. Raging Heart is full of explosive information from people who knew, but couldn't or wouldn't tell their stories on the witness stand.

As vivid as a home movie, Raging Heart is an explicit, heartrending look behind the verdict of the century and the one book the O.J. Simpson jurors would be astonished to read.

"I just read this book. I had already read Faye's book after the trial, then I just read OJ's If I did it book, I then re read Fayes and now this one. Its really a great compilation seeing everything fit together.

I really like a lot of the backdrop and various accounts on stories, more detail to stories already told or some that I never knew.

Such as Nicoles Breasts being slashed not being mentioned, or that Nicole kept Dr. Susans Forwards Obsessive Love Book around the home and met with her twice for counsel on her situation.

Accounts from various friends in their lives and Nicoles own family, this one has more bio on Nicoles life and family as a child and up until OJ entered the picture.

You can see where a woman was trapped by control, by expectations from friends and family, by lack of help from the police the numerous times she phoned them.

How Nicole had a mixed up sense of Love with OJ, and how young she was when she met him(how she came home with her pants torn and held them shut after their first date) He tore them to have sex with her.

Nicole was truly formed as a teen and was now trying to find her own identity but also deal with the insanity that was OJ. A quote in the book I think sums it up....

"It was precisely that charm, alternating with rage, precisely that Jekyll-Hyde quality, Dr. Forward explained to Nicole made OJ so dangerously hard to deal with. As she observed: "The switching from charm to rage leaves you totally off balance. Everything thats right on Monday is wrong on Tuesday. So your always watching- your on emotional alert all the time."

I recommend this book if you devour info on this case! And a good book for those dealing with Domestic Violence because you can see Nicoles back and forthness on trying to reconcile vs getting him out of her life, she never really could get him away."

  • Poor writing. A lot of untruths. This book was PUBLISHED 6 months after the murders. Hell, the trial lasted more than 6 months. I read so many inconsistencies in this book, they are too numerous to mention. The writer wrote about all the fabled tales from people who are notorious liars (Jill Shivley), The writer failed to mention why Kato Katlin did not want to testify, and asserted his rights and refused to incriminate himself. Kato went in to be interviewed, he was told by Clark that he had to testify that DAY to the Grand Jury. When his NEW lawyer said he needed time to speak to his client, Clark wouldn't bulge. The Superior Court gave his council until Monday to familiarize himself to the case. Maybe the Shelia Weller had no idea of these facts when she wrote the book. There was nothing sinister about this.

While I was reading about Nicole's life before her murder, I had little sympathy for her. She only worked 2 weeks in her ENTIRE LIFE at her one and only job when she was 18. Everything she obtained was through OJ. When I read of her many affairs, with several different men, I counted 6 boyfriends in a 2 year period while she was still legally married to OJ, I was disgusted. She even had an affair with Marcus Allen while he was MARRIED! She was constantly partying, hanging out with YOUNG men, early 20s, while she was in her mid 30s, I wondered about the children. She had a housekeeper and Kato, plus a babysitter. Why? She had no job. Was she neglecting her children to party? She wanted OJ to break the law, and say she was living in Rockingham while she lied to the IRS and said she rented the Bundy condo because she didn't want to pay $90 thousand in taxes. My God, the woman got almost half a million in the divorce settlement. They had been divorced for 2 years, and she didn't want nothing to do with OJ, why would he lie for her? I wonder, if she had not been murdered, how she expected to support herself? I read that OJ gave her $10 grand a month for child support. Then, I wonder, why would you stay with a man that abused you? The mind games these two played with each other was just crazy.

I do believe that OJ did commit the murders, but I think he has no memory, or has blocked it out of his mind. The Jodi Arias "fog" syndrome. Ron Goldman...how tragic, he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Here, I think, if Judith had not left her eyeglasses at the restaurant, Ron Goldman would still be alive. Curious, when I have left something at an establishment, they never personally brought it to me at my home, I always had to go pick it up myself...unless...the candles and the romantic music was for Ron. The writer also stated that Ron walked to Nicole's condo, when he actually drove his friends car. Another untruth.
