While the book is largely geared toward families coping with chronic illness, the lessons provided can benefit anyone. There is even a section for teens on how to deal with test anxiety!
Many people, myself included, have gone through life hoping that stress and anxiety would magically go away on its own. Stress has been perceived as something that is out of our control... or is it?
Through the many examples of guided imagery and breathing techniques I have learned that anxiety is something I can actually face head on. I especially like using the balloon imagery in the book of placing stressful things in a balloon and watching them float away. This is something I can do anywhere at any time. What a relief!

- Inner Power NOW is a tremendous gift to parents and their children. The struggle with anxiety, pain and health issues is not uncommon. However, finding a solution that is natural, requires no medication and builds rapport is not so common. This book does just that and meets the challenge with great success. Vicki guides her reader through guided imagery and mindfulness practices that create calm and a sense of well-being. The different sections are clearly organized as there is something for different ages and situations.
The guided imagery is easy to follow with step by step suggestions. I will definitely incorporate this tool into my life! - I was a complete new comer to guided imagery and meditation.
